Vocational Education and Training

​​​​Vocational education in Australia, known as Vocational Education and Training (VET), focuses on providing practical skills and knowledge tailored to specific trades and professions. VET programs are designed and taught to equip students with the skills needed for employment.

VET courses often include hands-on training, apprenticeships, and work placements, allowing students to gain real-world experience. Qualifications offered at St Patrick's College range from Certificates I to IV to a Diploma, each providing different levels of expertise and career outcomes. 

St Patrick's College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45734) and offers a Certificate I in Workplace Readiness (BSB10120), which is undertaken in Year 10, and a Certificate III in Business (BSB30120). We also offer a wide range of certificate courses from external providers in a range of modes.

Workplace Learning
Students are encouraged to participate in Work Experience or Structured Work Placement to assist in their transition from school to work.

TAFE at School
St Patrick's College supports students to attend TAFE at School Certificates during the senior phase of learning to assist students planning to transition from school a variety of trades.

School Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) provide an opportunity for students generally in Years 10, 11 and 12 to undertake employment-based training while continuing full-time enrolment in a school program.
